'200-year-old' Louis Vuitton is new... Smartphone games, not bags

Louis Vuitton's 200th anniversary video game 'Louis: The Game' captured screen.

Louis Vuitton, a world-renowned luxury brand, reported on the 4th that it launched a game aimed at young people to mark the 200th anniversary of the brand's founding.

According to reports, 'Louis: The Game' is a smartphone game that is available on both the App Store and the Google Store. The game also features 30 NFTs (non-funable tokens) that Michael Winkleman, known for his name "Beeple," participated in the production.

The game to be released follows Louis Vuitton's journey 200 years ago. Louis Vuitton was born on August 4, 1821 in Angche, a small town in the Jura Mountains in France. After apprenticeship of Romain Mareschal, the best trunk maker of the time, he began writing the history of the brand in 1854 by opening a store on the streets of Neuve-de-Capucine near Vandome Square in Paris.

Players follow Louis Vuitton's journey and collect monogram candles to unlock postcards containing the brand's history. In addition, 30 NFTs can be collected from the game. However, even if it is collected, it cannot be sold.

Meanwhile, more and more brands are participating in game production like Louis Vuitton.

Louis Vuitton designed the costumes of the characters in the League of Legends produced by Riot Games in 2019.

Burberry, based in the U.K., has a partnership agreement with Micro Games and has its own game app, B Surf.
