China, blinded by rare earths, join hands with the Taliban.

It has been pointed out that China has joined hands with the Taliban, an armed Islamic political group, while eyeing trillions of dollars of rare earth in Afghanistan.

Rare earth elements were named rare earths because the amount buried in the ground was only 300 in a million. It is a mineral that works well with heat and electricity and is used in electricity, electronics, catalysts, optics, and superconductors. It is also called 'high-tech rice' because it is a key raw material.

The Taliban, an Islamic militant group, entered Kabul, Afghanistan's capital, Sunday to take over the presidential palace.

"If China tries to ally with the Taliban, the international community should put pressure on China," said Shamaila Khan, director of emerging markets at Alliance Bernstein, a U.S. asset management company, in an interview with local economic media CNBC on the 17th.

"China is Afghanistan's biggest neighbor and will always respect its sovereignty and territorial integrity," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hu Chunying said in a regular briefing.

Currently, China supplies most of the rare earth consumed in the world. China has used this status in industry and diplomacy.

Rare earths are being mined at a mine in Jiangxi Province, China, on December 30, 2010.

"It seems that Afghanistan has trillions of dollars worth of rare earth," Khan said. "A country that wants to raid Afghanistan must comply with international conditions." "The Taliban have access to Afghanistan's minerals," he said. "It has emerged with resources that are very dangerous to the world." According to CNBC, the value of minerals and rare earth metals in Afghanistan is estimated at $3 trillion.

The Taliban occupied Kabul and the presidential palace on the 15th. U.S. President Joe Biden decided in April to withdraw U.S. troops from Afghanistan.
